Kim MacConnel

Rosamund Felsen Gallery in Santa Monica

America artist, Kim MacConnel, was one of the leading figures of the Pattern and Decoration movement of the mid 1970's and early 1980's. This is an art movement I can relate to--decorative and beautiful. I love his daring colors and his mix of Matisse-like shapes. You can see more of his work online at the  Quint Contemporary Art in La Jolla or Rosamund Felsen in Santa Monica.

A few works I discovered  and really like by British artist John Piper--found via Shelleys Davies--thank you.

Alessandro Twombly

I am in love with these lush floral paintings by Italian painter and sculptor, Alessandro Twombly (son of artist, Cy Twombly.) Most of these are from an exhibit at Lefevre Fine Art in London in October 2010.
