Works by Alesandro Twombly, the son of Cy Twombly-- I especially love the colors and the happy exuberance of his flower paintings. To me his flowers exude the beauty of nature and the feminine--as the Italians do so well. To see more of his work, go to the David Desanctis Gallery in Los Angeles.
This painting is my favorite piece--it must be spectacular in person.
Known for his large-scale, scribbled graffiti-like paintings , Cy Twombly's monumental "Rose" paintings shown at the Gagosian Gallery last May are lush and boldly colorful. I see some similarity with his son's beautiful paintings of flowers.
