Hello fellow art lovers. I am rethinking this blog. I may change the format to simplify the blog or I may discontinue altogether. I have had an issue with someone demanding I pay them money for posting some artwork, which I have completely deleted. This blog is simply for sharing artwork I enjoy of mostly lesser-known artists from around the world. I started this blog to share my own work along with other artists' work. I have been inspired by so many artists, which has been a pleasure. This is not a money-making venture, but merely a platform for discovering artists and promoting their work.
Since receiving the email demanding money, it's not so fun anymore. I don't want legal battles with anyone. So I will sit with this for a while, as I will miss the thrill of discovering amazing art and artists and sharing them with all of you. Thank you, dear friends of art.
Yes - sit on it, see where they go with the demand for money. It may well be nothing. In the meantime you can make posts and safe them in Drafts for later.

ReplyDeleteJust want to share a thought…..I’m a painter who has allowed my work to be shown in various platforms, even printed in a publication for free. I have received a simple statement asking permission to feature my art without monetary compensation, just promotion. I’ve agreed to this many times, and the email exchange served as verification.

I'm sorry to hear this. I've enjoyed your blog for years, and the different styles of artists you've featured. It's a shame because I never thought the images you featured were in a form/resolution that'd be of any other use than viewing on your site. (Meaning not suitable for download or reproduction.)
ReplyDeleteI would hope there's a way to give simple copyright credit to the artists with the understanding that this isn't a site about making money, just about looking at great art!

I do hope this lovely blog continues! I’ve followed for years and really enjoy what you share and that it is just that, sharing art etc that you have come across and found interesting. The music clips are also so good. It is quite unique and so refreshingly ego free. Thank you for all you share and introduce us to.

I have had this before on mine and it is disheartening when you are sharing for the enjoyment of the work and to encourage appreciation of artists. Also it is extremely hard work putting together and researching so I can understand XXX
