Hand-Stitched Kantha Quilts from Hand and Cloth

Lovely hand-stitched  kantha quilts made from vintage saris from Hand and Cloth, a Bangladesh-based social enterprise to aid women. The photography is beautiful as well as the concept. Discovered via 79 Ideas--thank you.

The QUEEN OF kANTHA: Jeanette Farrier's Kantha Coats and Home Decor

Former costume designer, Jeanette Farrier, sells the most beautiful jackets and throws made from recycled cotton saris. Fabulously soft and lightly quilted, each handstitched piece is a thing of great beauty. I especially love how she combines various patterns and colors. I have a small collection of kantha throws that I found on my trip to Jaipur a few years ago. They're perfect to throw over you on a cool evening. They also look great on a table. Look for these beauties online at miekomintz.com.
